Our Florentine artisan workshop, Berti A&P, specializes in the Commesso technique, which uses colored marble and semi-precious stones cut according to figure outlines (with a result very similar to painting), to create its handcrafted works.

FLORENTINE TECHNIQUE

Unlike the Roman school, which prefers marble and abstract forms, our Florentine technique favors semi-precious stones to create Italian compositions with naturalistic subjects, flowers, animals and fruits. Due to the creation of real pictorial effects, the Medici called this technique "stone painting."
